How to Use Bubbi: A Step-by-Step Guide

Bubbi turns a few quiet minutes at home into a special pregnancy memory. The app uses your phone’s built-in microphone, so you do not need a Doppler, gel or any other equipment. This guide will help you approach your first session calmly and with realistic expectations.

Step 1. Choose a quiet moment

Set aside five to ten minutes when you do not need to rush. Turn off the TV, music, fan and notifications, and close the window if you can hear traffic outside. A smartphone microphone records not only quiet body rhythms but also fabric rubbing, breathing and everyday background noise.

Begin the session out of curiosity, not to check your baby’s wellbeing. Bubbi is designed for connection and keepsake recordings, not medical monitoring.

Step 2. Prepare your phone

Check the battery and find the microphone opening on your phone model. If a tight case covers it, remove the case carefully. Make sure the microphone is clean, but do not use liquid or sharp objects.

Step 3. Get comfortable

Lie down or sit comfortably so you will not need to keep changing position. Relax your shoulders, breathe naturally and place the phone near your abdomen as shown in the app. Do not press the phone into your belly.

Step 4. Listen without rushing

Start the session and give the microphone a few minutes. If you hear clothing or breathing, adjust the phone slightly and become still again. Do not try to identify the source of every rhythm or calculate a heart rate yourself.

Step 5. Save the moment

If the recording feels meaningful, save it and add your pregnancy week and a short note in Baby Diary. Bubbi also lets you share a selected recording with your partner. Check the recipient before sending and keep privacy in mind.

If you cannot hear anything

End the session and try another time. Gestational age, the baby’s and placenta’s position, body characteristics, phone model and background noise can all affect the result. An unsuccessful recording is not a medical result. If you have symptoms or notice a change in your baby’s usual movements, contact a healthcare professional instead of repeating a home check.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Doppler or gel?

No. Bubbi uses only the built-in microphone of a compatible phone.

How long should a session last?

A few calm minutes are enough. If searching for a sound increases anxiety, take a break.

Can Bubbi check my baby’s health?

No. Bubbi is not a medical device and does not replace an examination, ultrasound or medical consultation.
